2008 Race for the Cure

I did something Saturday that I've always wanted to do. I participated in the 2008 Susan Komen Race for the Cure with about 42,000 other people. It was especially meaningful to me because my friend Bonnie found out this past year that she has breast cancer. After finishing up with her chemo treatments on Monday, she walked proudly with about 40 friends and family members supporting her. I have never been part of such a huge crowd and there was an amazingly positive vibe shared by all. There were so many people that we walked the 5k in just under 2 hours, stuck behind a sea of people. I definitely plan to participate next year and will be bringing Conrad with me too.

If you haven't had time to donate to this cause there is still time. Donations can be easily made online through the B Team's fund raising page.

Hi Becky,

I am Bonnie's sister-in-law and I live in Atlanta, GA. My mother-in-law sent me the link to your page so that I could see your slide show of the B-team.

You did such an amazing job putting this together; I have to tell you I was moved to tears. Being geographically separated from Bonnie is terribly hard, she is like my sister. But your pictures brought me closer to her in spirit. It was really wonderful to view.

Thank you for sharing these on your blog page. It was more than meaningful.

Best Regards,
Janelle Ladina
